This Nissan sedan was codenamed L02B and it is based on the same ‘V’ platform as that of its hatch car Nissan Micra. Nissan Sunny was launched on September 20, 2011 in petrol engine option only and the company is hoped to introduce the diesel variant soon. There are three variants of Nissan Sunny petrol. Nissan Sunny is produced at the manufacturing plant in Chennai where Nissan Micra is produced for India and exported to other countries. Nissan Sunny is powered by 1.5 litre 4 cylinders and 16 valves petrol engine that produces 100 PS of maximum power. The engine produces around 134 Nm of torque like other 1.5 litre powertrains. The engine is affixed with a 5 speed manual gearbox. With this engine configuration and a decent price tag, Nissan Sunny is in competition with the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Swift Dzire, Tata Indigo Manza, Ford Fiesta.
